Good questions.
Can you work while we are open?
Yes. Most commercial installs run nights and weekends, and the film is dry-applied with no odor, so adjacent rooms stay in use.
How is it applied?
Dry application. The surface is cleaned, degreased and lightly scuffed if glossy, hardware comes off, the film is squeegeed on and heat-set around edges and curves, then hardware goes back on. No adhesives mixed on site, no odor, no cure time before the room is used.
Is it fire-rated?
Most 3M DI-NOC and Bodaq series are Class A under ASTM E84, and the rating applies to the film on its substrate, so we provide the test report showing flame spread and smoke indexes for your submittal. Labeled fire doors fall under NFPA 80: we wrap those only with written approval from the door manufacturer or listing lab and your inspector, otherwise they are excluded in writing.
Can it go outside?
Standard films are made for interiors. Exterior-grade films rated for UV and weather are used on storefronts, columns, mullions and elevator entrances. Expect a shorter lifespan outdoors than the 12-year interior warranty.
What if a panel gets damaged?
That panel is replaced on its own. The film peels back clean and the surface underneath is untouched, so a scratched door or a dented elevator panel never means redoing the whole run.
Do you carry insurance?
General liability of $3,000,000; a certificate of insurance is issued on request before the first night on site.
Is there a minimum job size?
Mobile jobs carry a minimum purchase order of $1,200. Smaller pieces such as a single vanity or a few doors can be brought to the shop in El Cajon.
